DA perp volunteering

Should a DA perp be able to volunteer with vulnerable women (many victims of DA themselves) including access to their addresses to pick them up?

Said DA perp is someone from my past and they are now volunteering for my employer. I came across them out of the blue a few months ago, at a support group for women (they were bringing them) so reported it. Through that I was shown that the incidents related to me were never properly investigated or anything done. I was told that mistake wouldn’t happen again and they wouldn’t be allowed to be involved again from a certain date.

Today I’ve found out that actually, this person is still doing it and also volunteers at a sports academy where there’s a lot of children. This person assaulted me as a child and a sibling of mine who was even younger as well as lots of CCB/stalking.

AIBU to be furious with my employer that they assured me this person would be cut loose essentially, yet they’re still doing it?

Meant to add, the support group is one we’re repeatedly asked to take people to and to get numbers for, so it’s not even as if I could ignore it, I could regularly see them.

Presumably they would need a dbs check to volunteer with vulnerable adults and children? Check the policies of the organisations and if needs be report to their Designated Safeguarding Officer.

I don’t know about a DBS but thanks for the advice. I know they’re an ex PC and I think were approached that way about the support group aspect.
The DA incidents were recorded but not as a crime so perhaps it might make them look like a decent person.

They definitely should have a DBS. Referring to the local LADO could be an option. They look into professionals working with children, not sure if they would with a volunteer but it might be worth a shot. They're based in children's services
