Rude PT or am I oversensitive?

I attend a gym class regularly with a male personal trainer who leads it. Every week he will greet other women in the class and help them put away the weights at the end and then just not acknowledge me. Or he will assist them with movements and exercises but won’t do this for me. These women are all age ranges/ fitness abilities. I have tried to be polite but it seems like a reoccuring thing and Im very confused.

I have lost weight my bmi is 21 now and been there for a year but feel self conscious that maybe he doesn’t think i should attend the class?

Please can anyone shed some light if this has happened to you? Do PTs favour ‘fitter’ attendees or am I overly sensitive?

Maybe you don't need assistance with your movements?

Is it a gym class as in a group led by one person? In which case he isn't a personal trainer per se in this scenario - he's a class teacher.

If you were paying for actual personal training sessions and getting such little interaction I'd be agreeing with you, but here i think you're expecting a bit too much personally

Maybe he thinks you are perfectly capable of independent movement and putting your own weights away.

I don’t understand what your AIBU is.

They probably pay for private PT with him or something so have developed more of a relationship. Don't take it personally.

A fitness instructor assists people with the movement if they need to improve it/getting something wrong. If they're not correcting you that's not a bad thing!

Perhaps he has a rapport with some people in the class but it doesn't sound like he's doing anything wrong

Not needing your form corrected is a good thing.

With that said, any class that i am a 'regular' at, i tend to be friendly with the instructor as do others in my gym.
