They are very expensive and I’m not sure he’s learning to swim any time soon. However, I’ve seen children really struggle to get back into it.

We only get to go swimming as a family once every few months so without weekly lessons he won’t get in the pool much.

Could you stop the lessons but use the money to go swimming as a family more often. We pulled DS out of lessons when progress stalled and he wasn't enjoying it. Instead we go together once a week, it's a cheap session at the local council pool, so only a few £.

I learned with my 3.by the time dd3 came around, she had private 121 lessons for 18 months, every other week from 7 to 8 and a half. She went from a non swimmer to being able to do 800m.

Mine learned a bit later, they were 6&8 and it took literally 8 group lessons (it was a 6+ catch up course)

Where are you?

I am in central London and it's just under £27 a month for Council run lessons, max 10 pupils but none of my kids are in groups of this many.

Surrey. We had a price increase twice last year.
