Hi guys this is my first post here :) We have just moved from Kent to London, and DD13 is going to a tiny comp school with only 350 kids, which will be a big change from her old grammar school with over 1K kids.

She is starting Tuesday, and as we both went to grammars (along with DH), we have no idea as to what to expect.

TIA :)

I forgot to say, the school is in a more deprived (yet not rough) area, and after having a walk there it looks like the place is more working class.

Whhhyyyy???

also , what are you expecting people to say here? You obviously made a choice to move. All schools are different no matter what class the kids! They all operate in different ways and have different expectations etc.

It sounds very small for a city comprehensive. Is it designed as a small school or is it very undersubscribed? The latter would worry me but the former could be a big advantage - lots of time for pastoral care and helping new pupils settle. Did you choose it or is it just what you were given?

Yeah, it is in a place where 2 grammars are next to it, so it is very small as the grammars have sucked off the kids
