Is there anyone who has actually managed to loose weight naturally and reach a healthy weight from starting morbidly obese.
I got reffered for a gastric band by my gp as my bmi is 53 they said it's unlikely I could loose weight on my own but my mental health meant I was rejected from going any further is there actually any hope? Thanks.

Hi,
My bmi in September 2022 was 54. Its currently 41 and although ibe still got a way to go I feel like a different woman.
I do slimming world but am also very aware of what is healthy and what isn't. I also try to walk 10,000 steps 3 or more times a week and 6000 every day.
It's hard. I was at the point where i was seriously considering a gastric band. But I read some stuff on here about how they can affect your body a lot and I also had a leaflet about getting 12 weeks free at slimming world if your bmi was over a certain amount. So I thought I'd give it a go.
I'm very lucky that the group I'm with are amazing. The leader is so supportive and the group feel like family.
You can do this @Tesoroxx whichever way you choose if you are in the right frame of mind you will do it.

I have paid for it and so has my partner. It is expensive but actually so is all that food: drink etc .

it is expensive thogh I know and I am lucky.

it costs about £200 a month. It is stupid not to be on the nhs. It costs more in the long run
