To panic about taking Declafinac when TTC?

I have a trapped nerve in my back and have been applying Voltarol containing Declafinac in it as the active ingredient. I've applied it 4 times before googling online and reading "Not recommended in women attempting to conceive as may impair female fertility."

It's an anti inflammatory so I'm guessing it may impact ovulation? Today is CD26, the day before AF should show up. I've done a pregnancy test and I'm not pregnant, so really my next chance is next month. To what extent could it impact my efforts of TTC in the coming months? Am I being unreasonable to be worried about it?

Stop panicking and talk to your doctor.

I’d nip into the chemist tomorrow and speak with a pharmacist

You might get more answers on the Conception board, or I’d speak to your doctor.

Similar to ibuprofen, it’s not recommended when TTC due to its effects on uterine blood flow. It’s much worse in later pregnancy-look at the BUMPS website https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/Diclofenac/#:~:text=Use%20of%20diclofenac%20or%20other,of%20pregnancy%20under%20medical%20supervision.

People take all kinds of things ‘bad’ for pregnancy TTC with no ill effects but that doesn’t mean you should not avoid where possible. As you’re not pregnant this month then maybe don’t worry for now but limit its use after a couple of weeks or when you’d next ovulate.

It's Diclofenic. The info says talk to a dr or a pharmacist if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to be pregnant. It's something that is on a LOT of medicines. Using it for a day or so is unlikely to affect you but ask the pharmacist.

Applying topically means a negligible amount gets into the circulation. Asthmatics and those with stomach issues can normally use the gel without any problems.

Ibuprofen is used to reduce bleeding when having a period. It reduces blood flow to the uterus etc. Unless you are pregnant, using this gel is unlikely to be an issue.
