To worry this DPD issue won't be resolved?

Had a delivery from Curry's today through DPD, well they say they've delivered it and had included a picture of my front door with DH's legs there but this is categorically not actually from today and I have not received the parcel! Its a Shark Flex so not cheap and I'm stressing I'll lose out! Currys have raised a case but could take up to 2 weeks to get a response. Has anyone experienced this and had the item replaced? And why would the driver do this??

Is the picture of your DH's legs? Or are you saying it's someone else's? The device the driver carries is designed to allow them to take a picture in real time, but I'm fairly certain they can't upload one, so where else would it have come from?

GrimDamnFanjo · 02/01/2024 13:45

Have you checked with DH?

Sparklfairy · 02/01/2024 13:47

How do you know it's not from today?

Can you search your email inbox for previous DPD tracking links and prove that it's a duplicate photo by finding it on an old tracking number? I highly doubt any driver is cunning enough to have previous delivery photos saved under your address to reuse and just steal the parcel, but I'd be checking anyway if you're sure...

When did they take the photo of he's legs 👀

Notworryingdarling · 02/01/2024 13:51

Thanks for the responses. I have checked with DH and he definitely didn't take the parcel in. I know its not from today as neither of us has taken the parcel in today. And in the picture, DH is wearing something he was wearing to take a parcel in last week. I have checked previous delivery photos and can't see the same one. I agree that it seems unlikely the driver has some cunning plan but I just can't understand why he do this or what has really happened, all I know is that he claims to have delivered and I know it's not delivered so I'm baffled! Which is why I'm worried that I'll lose out as they can show a delivery photo.

Is the parcel in the photo? Is it something that is clearly not the shark, size wise?

Notworryingdarling · 02/01/2024 13:54

It does look like DH's legs/ our front door (although it's very blurry 😅) but I know that the parcel was not delivered today! The only other explanation I can think of is that it somehow is another house which looks so similar to ours / DH's legs and the driver has failed to put in delivered to neighbour, but that also seems extremely unlikely!

This happened to me last Xmas eve. Photo of my parcel (gaming monitor for son) at a door (not my door) with msg saying item delivered. Clearly it wasn't delivered.
I had a panic and contacted DPD directly, who then contacted the driver and my parcel was with me within an hour. Had been delivered to a house along the street with same name.

Try contacting DPD

Redglitter · 02/01/2024 13:54

Is there nothing identifiable on the parcel in the photo. Is it the same size as the one you're expecting. Are there labels you could zoom in on or anything

Notworryingdarling · 02/01/2024 13:57

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut I would say the parcel could be the Shark size wise but the photo is very blurry so I can't make out whether it has Curry's or Shark branding or anything

@oOiluvfriendsOo I'm so.pleased you got sorted. The photo of mine does appear to be our house though! So ransom. I contacted DPD and they refused to do anything and wouldn't contact the driver, just said I have to go through Currys

DPD delivery drivers take the photos directly via the app/PDA that scans the parcel and sends you the notifications. They don't upload them manually so I can't see how it would be an old photo from last week. I'd suggest it's someone else's house rather than an old photo of your husband.

Notworryingdarling · 02/01/2024 14:04

Interesting that there should be no way they can use an old photo. It does say handed to me (surname) but I guess they just click that regardless. Annoyingly, I can't see the photo anymore, just messaged them to ask to be resent it.

Yep, I don't believe the devices have the ability store photos and upload at a later date. If you recognise the clothes your DH is wearing and it looks like your door then I would double check with DH that he's definitely not taken a parcel in.

Notworryingdarling · 02/01/2024 14:14

OK mustery solved as a neighbour just brought it round 🤣 not an immediate someone quite a bit further along the street. So bizarre as it looked so much like our front door / DH's legs in trousers he wore last week 🤣 Still would have been helpful for DPD to say on the delivery it was at a neighbour 😉

Phew! Glad it's all turned out ok, Op!
