Why are people setting off just one lone firework at a time?

Is it just my close or has it become the norm to just let off one stray MASSIVE firework. Then nothing for 30 mins. Repeat.

COL crisis?

It’s upsetting my dog but we can spoil him so not a huge deal. Feel this way of doing it just constantly causes shock (to myself included)

God I wish it were just one, 10 minute intense barage here to celebrate 10.08 on NYE? 2 mins quiet and then someone starts up again. NYE is now four hours of sitting in a tiny room trying to keep the dog from freaking out.

Because they have no idea what they're doing but have decided they're doing it anyway.

These will be the same people who wander over and pick it up when it doesn't go off when they think it should have and end up losing a finger or 2.

Fireworks are crazy expensive and even more dangerous. I think it's probably the right thing to set one off at a time, so you can light it and then run away, while thinking about your money going up in smoke.....

I don’t get it either, the ones near me don’t even seem to have any nice sparks lighting up the sky. Just a loud bang every now and then.
