To ask if anyone else had a shit Christmas..

We all had cold. Christmas Eve partner starts any argument he can as he does every year, making family feel awkward.
Christmas Day was ok, but I come out in loads of cold sores.
Boxing Day he spends sulking with me as I didn't put any photos of him online from Christmas Day, and then leaves me and kids home while he goes to football.
My car breaks down, so while he goes to visit family from 27-30 dec I quite literally can't go anywhere.
So I've told him I'm going to mums with kids tonight and he can stay home, and I don't even know if I want to continue our 11 year relationship. He's ruined Christmas for me.

Gosh he sounds very selfish.

Christmas with my 4 & 2 year olds was difficult as the youngest came down with norovirus at 4am on Christmas morning, and it’s since raced through the rest of the household. Christmas Day looked different that we expected but genuinely it was a great day and I’m having a great week with my husband and kids, even if sickly. I reflected on this the other night and thought that it’s our ability to laugh it off, see the good despite the circumstances, and our ability to look on to the next year that gets us through.

Im glad you’ve taken yourself off without him tonight but do give some good thought to what you want and deserve going into this new year.

I went to visit family. 6 of them got covid and the other 4 of us got flu so Xmas was off. I spent all of yesterday hallucinating and trying to have a conversation with my cat and not understanding why she wasn't replying to me in English. I had to go and sit in a cold bath to bring my temperature down. I certainly won't be able to return to work on Tuesday.

DH forgets that the bit between Xmas and NY is boring and there’s not much to do (I enjoy personally). So he’s been in a bad mood. He also took the week off before Christmas and wasted loads of holiday when the weather is crap.
Hes been moaning his wants to go to his home city next year at this time so we can ‘visit’ people. But renting somewhere will be a fortune, it’s a 5 hour drive, the weather will be shit. I also have no interest in spending days sitting in the living rooms of relatives he has zero contact with normally making small talk (he would enjoy this). Teenager is ASD, going to someone’s smoke filled house would flip her out. Also most of these people have no interest in seeing us/have never made any effort.
