I need to up my protein but I’m terrible with food. Can anyone recommend high protein lunches? No massive salads

my current diet consists of

granola and kerfir yogurt (this MUST stay)
a pot noodle
easy dinner such as Kiev and beans

my bloods are not great. Need to change things.

What is wrong with your bloods? It would be unusual to be protein deficient. Maybe eat some fruit and vegetables?

What is it about your bloods that aren’t great? That would give a better indication of how you need to change up your diet.

For lunches, scrambled eggs on a higher protein toast, with/without avocado. Tuna and mayo on toast/celery, egg omelette with lots of veg and some cheddar/feta. Chickpeas, hummus, cucumber/tomato/pepper in a wrap, garlic yoghurt/hot sauce if you like it.

Also things like roast chicken legs (cheap) or salmon (not so cheap) with ready made noodles (the sort you microwave), lots of veg, soy sauce/sesame oil. Or with brown rice and veg. Or the same in wraps with raw salad veg. Stay away from breaded processed stuff and cook it fresh.

I’m anaemic mainly but I do lack protein also in my diet, hair is falling out, skin is dry, no energy

Shove some frozen loose edamame beans, dried tofu chunks and cashews in your pot noodle.

Homemake a pot noodle using miso paste/soy/sesame oil or miso soup sachets and rice or wheat noodles - prob bit healthier than pot noodle nutritionally. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onion. Spinach/beansprouts/carrot strips etc if so inclined.

Ok so without knowing what macros you want to hit etc it's a bit hard, what are your goals?

Low calorie high protein tin of tuna on a mini
Wrap?

Or if you have a few more calories to play with- low fat mince is great
Cottage pie
Chilli con carne
Spag Bol - just weigh your carbs

Chicken wraps or curry without rice

bjjgirl · 30/12/2023 13:48

What do you enjoy eating? If you're not fussed about actually eating - protein water / shakes are good
Protein puddings
Protein bars
Amino acids to enable you to process the protein

Chicken satay

Baby bels

So the fact you are having such extreme physical reactions to lack of protein I would assume you are struggling with food or your bodies ability to absorb the nutrients.

So I would speak to your gp firstly but in the mean time, get some protien water, amino acids, lean meat if you can stomach it.

You can get protein pots from aldi with granola too.

Delphi avocado and houmous spread
