Sat doing an Asda shop to collect in the morning. We're going to a small cottage in North wales - theres a small kitchen so will try and cook in to save money but still want it to be a treat... What nice but easy food would you add!? Things like jus-rol cinnamon swirls for breakfast 😋 and lots of cheeses/ham. 2 adults, 2kids, no allergies... I've got until 11.17pm!

A nice breakfast sets you up for the day so maybe a posher cereal than you usually have, nice juice, a nice bit of fruit. Then maybe some part bake rolls so you have fresh bread with your ham and cheeses? A few snacks and some easy but maybe more luxury dinners? If I didn’t have little ones I’d do steak and chips maybe and that’s no effort. Then pick up whatever you like pudding wise and to drink.

And plenty of tea/coffe/hot chocolate and bath bubbles if there is a bath to warm you up!!

Does it have a big freezer

You can buy frozen raw prawns to cook up with garlic and chilli, frozen croissants to cook up for breakfast, some good marmalade.

Lots of cheeses, olives, nice nuts, wine - thats dinners sorted!

Various cheese that we didn’t eat at Christmas and crackers

big tub of nigellas nuts

champagne and OJ (wedding anniversary today but both unwell with some sort of lurgy )

Camembert to bake with bread etc to dip in. Lots of nibbles like olives. We love the Spanish/Italian nibble platters you can get.

Smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagels. Whatever your favourite meat/veg/stock combo is to slow cook in the oven for a yummy casserole.

All good shouts - thank you! Any specific recommendations for nicest cereals/muesli? There is a freezer - have just added some things for that too 😊

I used to buy a delicious tropical fruit granola that was Asda own brand but I'd choose basically something you don't usually have - it'll be a treat! Maybe some fresh berries as well.
Bring your waterproofs & wellies - I live in North Wales & it's raining & blowing a hooley at the moment! You have a lovely time I'm sure - it's a great place.
