To wonder how much you spend on 1 year old a week? This seems like a lot?

I spend around 400 a month on ds who is one, outside nursery fees. This includes a weekly shop of six ready meals so I don’t have to cook every meal from scratch (I work full time), a pack of 32 nappies 11 pounds, whole milk, 2 packs of wipes, one pack of Milton wipes and snacks like organix bars etc then fruit and veg. This comes to around 35 a week. On top of this there is petrol to and from nursery, ten pounds a week. Entry to farms or soft play twice a week, 15-20 quid. Then things like new vests or socks here and there, or the odd toy now and then. Easily spend 100 a week. I don’t think I spend too much or too recklessly, I consider these things ds needs? Is this similar to other people’s spending? A family member has said they can’t understand how I would need to spend more than 25 a week!

This sounds like an awful lot to be honest.
At 1 they are more than able to eat family food, just give whatever you are eating yourself, if time is an issue just save an extra portion of the night before so you can feed them straight away or before your food is ready.

Nappies I always buy the supermarket brand, I never liked pampers. Tesco or Lidl is what I use.

Again wipes I use home bargains, I buy the big box of 12 as better value.

Assuming the Milton wipes are for sterilising dummies/toys etc? Unless they had a v&d bug I wouldn't be bothered with this, and realistically the chemicals aren't in contact with the items long enough to disinfect before they have evaporated.

Are you going on outings every day at the weekend? And then working the rest of the week? I honestly don't think this is necessary, kids need tome to just chill and relax too. Plus then it takes away from the special treat of a day out if it's every day iyswim.

Some quick meal ideas I use on nights when we're not eating at the same time as toddler:

Boiled egg and soldiers
Pasta (tuna/pesto/cheese)
Soup and croissant (homemade soup from frozen batch or Heinz tomato)
Fish fingers and beans or sweetcorn
French toast
Sausages and beans

@SutWytTi surely toys are necessary for development? I’m talking 10-15 pounds nothing huge

They can count and stack your tupperware

Bang on saucepan instead of a flashy drum

Imagine in a cardboard box

Same toys from toy library for free

Books and toys from charity shop
