To not put neighbours bins out again?

Woke this morning at 6.30, howling wind and rain and both opposite neighbours recycling bins blown over and rubbish in our garden. Went out with dp and put it all back and stood bins up again. Within 10 mins they'd blown over again, repeat process. In between times I'd mentioned to dp that bin collections are a day behind and asked him when bins due out. He said due out today, so I put neighbours bins up close to their houses and he put our bin back in garage.

I've just checked the calendar, bins were due yesterday, so should be picked up today. I've put our bin out again but left neighbours where they are.

Aibu not to put neighbours bins out again (don't know if it's their position or that they are so light which means they are blowing over). If we hadn't done out and retrieved rubbish (twice) then bin wouldn't have been collected anyway.

Both neighbours in. One is single lady, lights off. Other neighbours lights on, able bodied young couple. If that makes any difference.

You didn't hear it...you woke up and found it like that, then tidied up. You are making huge assumptions about who is home awake and what they know....for all you know they could be in bed with flu.

No, sorry for not being clear. I was woken at 6.30 by sound of bin being blown over and tins rolling down the street.

Lol at being bin watch! Have had to clear our garden before of one of their bins contents - while they came out and watched....

@Goodlard I returned bins which were blowing down road as they were likely to cause an accident/ get hit by a car.
