To ask how to find the Christmas spirit this Christmas Eve?

I've just not been feeling Christmassy at all. So today I've been trying to find the Christmas Spirit!

So far I've had a Christmas song dance party with my toddler, had a baileys coffee and a mince pie and we're currently watching my childhood favourite, 'Santa Claus the Movie'

We will be going to pick up DSD soon and having a festive walk and go to the fancy streets with the nice lights. Once Toddler is in bed we will watch DSD fave film Home Alone 2 with cheese and choccies.

What's everybody up to and any suggestions to feel Christmassy?

I watched The Snowman with a cuppa this morning and then a Prosecco, feeling ever so festive now 😂

I'm drinking brandy, had crackers and pate for lunch after a breakfast of jelly babies. Currently watching a very bizarre horror film and have smiled that my only Christmas decorations, namely a string of 10 fairy lights, have just lit up.

I defy you to be more festive than that!

I generally find a bottle of champagne does the trick!

The crib service, then nice food and board games with the fire on and Christmas tunes.

I second @Youcannotbeseriousreally ’s suggestion.
Also, despite not being a person of faith I do find a Christingle or 9 lessons and carols service makes me feel Christmassy. Or midnight service, but I guess that’s out with a toddler in the house.

I’m currently cooking a turkey as we are having a full Christmas dinner here today , we’ve just watched Muppet Christmas Carol and are now watching The Heist before Christmas .

It's called Christmas SPIRIT for a reason!!!! Start drinking heavily! 😉

I'm not feeling particularly Christmassy as I have a poorly family, full washing machine, a scooter and husband's presents to wrap and will probably have to drive somewhere tonight but I'm sure I can start drinking soon 😀

Happy Christmas!

We've baked some Christmas cookies, had Christmas scented oil in the vaporiser, virtual fire on TV and carols on low in the background.

Now poured myself a glass of prosecco thanks to you lot 😂

dh always does a Christmas buffet with steak sandwiches and homemade sausage rolls, etc. the kids will be building the dairy milk chocolate house I got. Normally we do a few shop bought Christmas crafts but we went to centre parcs earlier this month and they did them there. We’ll Probably stick on a film and play some games with the kids plus I’m going to drink a few festive gins I’ve prepped.

Go out. Talk to other people and wish Christmas cheer! We’re taking four connecting trains to get from our house in South London to my parents’ in Bath (wisdom of Network Rail, closing Paddington on Christmas Eve!) carrying bags of gifts and bunches of flowers and other visiting travelling sundries, along with pretty much every other Londoner going to a similar destination. It’s been three hours of chats and joking with our fellow passengers, and whilst the journey has been pretty pants, we now feel quite festive - though I’m sure the train-a-coladas have helped a bit.

I never ever feel "Christmassy". I think it is built into this massive "thing" where people feel the pressure to make it all special and significant and unforgettable whereas in fact it's one day at the coldest/darkest time of year. It's all people talk about for weeks - what are you doing for Christmas, have you done all your shopping, all ready for Christmas? WOuld happily skip the whole thing tbh.
