To not want to go over budget

This probably sounds a bit petty, but SIL and her husband set budgets of £10 per person for adults so we can focus on kids. Now when I have a budget I like to stick to it! Sorted SIL for £10 exactly and husband sorted BIL for £11. So all done in my opinion! Nope, he wants to go to the shops tomorrow to get some extra chocolate or edible bits for each person, so starting to add on a few more quid each. He always goes over whatever budget is set for each person and we have SO many people we buy for so it all starts to add up. He's getting very annoyed at me for saying no we're not buying anything else. AIBU?

YANBU.
If you agree budgets then that should be it otherwise, when you hand it over, the recipients may feel uncomfortable knowing you’ve spent more than they have and they then feel obligated to spend more in the years that follow!

YABU because he didn't set the budget.

It would be very rude and disrespectful of him to go against an agreed budget. All that achieves is making SIL and her hubby feel awkward.

It’s lovely that he wants to treat his extended family and the sentiment is nice but imo it isn’t acceptable or fair to overspend in this situation.

I go over budget every year and even now am ordering extra things for our dc’s🫣. I think some people are just like that.

YANBU - But next year just all agree to buy for kids and not adults especially if you have loads of people to buy for.
