To ask how to cause maximum bother for the PM

Fieldofbrokenpromises · 20/12/2023 11:07

I received a letter from the Prime Minister, he claims to want to hear from me.

He was kind enough to enclose a reply paid envelope, and a ridiculous "survey".

I wonder if filling the envelope with something inert but heavy might cost them more than if I just write back that I am sick of this corrupt tax-dodging venal scumbag government?

I used to know someone who claimed to have worked in an office where they opened these responses - she claimed someone taped the letter to a brick, and also someone filled it with a bag of dog shit.
I doubt these were true and I don't want to be unpleasant to the poor souls opening the letters, but if there is a way to cost the Conservative Party extra I'd love to do it.

If the actual question is "Can I increase the cost to the initiator when using a pre-paid reply envelope?" then, no, you can't.

This is actually really embarrassing to read. It isn’t just the fact you want to cause ‘bother’ to the PM but that you’ve done scurrying over here expecting praise for it. There are multiple problems and issues at present that need addressing, none of which will be solved either by a smug ‘I’ve never voted Tory’ or by this sort of petty childishness.

maximum bother” 😂

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 20/12/2023 11:55

Seriously ? 🙄

There are a couple of obvious answers (with your vote - and additional help for the party you support) but posting crap in an envelope ? Makes you sound like an immature student .

LightToTheWorld · 20/12/2023 11:58

Why not volunteer to leaflet for your preferred party? They always need people.

Sending silly things to the Conservatives in the post is a waste of time and effort.

Dang, thanks though.

I'll take that as a compliment, thanks

Sorry you're embarrassed, hope it passes soon.

Please tell me what is going to change under a labour government? Put your tinted glasses on and tell me how good it is going to be.

LakeTiticaca · 20/12/2023 12:05

If its anything that looks like it could be explosives or nerve gas, and if it could be traced back to you, you might end up with your house surrounded by armed anti terror officers 🤣🤣🤣

velvetoptions · 20/12/2023 12:06

have you got filling out that survey yet Op? !

Nosleepforthismum · 20/12/2023 12:08

Have you really got nothing better to do? I find people that pull these kind of stunts tend to be lacking in intelligence.

i’m all for putting a positive spin on things

but perhaps this is a touch of a reach to take as a compliment!

I have you read the OP or any of the thread?

Tinysoxxx · 20/12/2023 12:18

My flatmate used to open up poll tax cheque envelopes as her first job. There were all sorts of horrendous things in the envelopes. White powders always made her feel nervous but she said she could smell it was talc. Don’t enclose anything. The minimum wage workers opening up the letters will be used to all sorts but it doesn’t make it any more pleasant. Use your energy to do the survey and think of something constructive to say that an intern might write down on the slim chance it will work its way up the chain to be considered.

randomchap · 20/12/2023 12:24

Use the opportunity to point out all the flaws, failures, fuck ups, and foolishness this government has been in charge of.

PPE profiteering
Damage to the nhs
Brexit
Demonising immigrants
Economic stagnation
Lying to the queen
Failing the subpostmasters
Not paying victims of the blood scandal

I could go on

CranfordScones · 20/12/2023 12:33

So nothing constructive. Just a mindless attack on someone you don't like. Sadly characteristic of left wing politics.

How about changing something for the better? Like your mindset.

SerendipityJane · 20/12/2023 12:35

I think what inconveniences Rishi Sunak most is the truth

CactusMactus · 20/12/2023 12:37

I would make a tiny weeny book with teeny tiny writing made specially for little Rishi.... a bit 'The Jolly Postman' style.

scalt · 20/12/2023 20:43

I know someone who used to pick up littered face masks ("nappies"), and posted them to Downing Street.

PM would have been completely and utterly unaware of this

poor minimum wage post room chap though would have the pleasure of opening and disposing

Yep

CrapBucket · 20/12/2023 20:50

I would probably just write something lame like ‘you should be ashamed of yourself’ and post that.
