Yes, definitely. I'm sure more polyps are benign than not! My wife had uterine polyps removed a few years ago. Benign and no further problems

These are found in a colonoscopy.

Most are benign.

I had benign uterine polyps. I didn't have any symptoms - they were discovered during fertility investigations. They were removed and haven't come back (10+ years).

ThePoshUns · 19/12/2023 22:19

Yes I had polyps removed from my cervix, they were sent for biopsy and benign

Lunde · 19/12/2023 22:19

Definitely - I had a huge one 30 years ago that had grown from the upper cervix and pretty much filled the uterine cavity - 3cm x1.5 cm. But no further problems

Polyps are not cancerous but some can develop into cancer.

So you mean bowel polyps? Yes most will be benign. Their location in the bowel isn’t particularly significant.

WalKat · 19/12/2023 22:21

The majority of polyps are benign but it is routine to send off for testing which may flag up if "pre malignant"

Frozensun · 19/12/2023 22:22

Yes. I’ve had a number removed at different colonoscopies. All benign.

Very common, usually not serious, worth having them checked in case they're pre-malignant.

Bowel polyps

Find out about bowel (colonic) polyps, which are small growths on the inner lining of the bowel. There are often no symptoms but should usually be removed.
