Got an email today from airline saying my flight will be delay by more than 3 hours. I will travelling alone with two kids under 7 and I have already booked a coach to Heathrow which timing can’t be change so be waiting around for 6 hours before checking start. Need to find something to entertain kids. I can make a complaint and get compensation. Tickets cost around £2000 for the three of us and it’s a 10 hour flight so that extra 4 hours delay is too much with kids. They said delay is due to strike. My flight is in 2 days.

I suspect you'll spend more than three hours trying to complain about this and all to no avail.

It's just one of those things.

What's your AIBU? It's shit, but shit happens. Making a complaint won't change anything other than possibly getting some compensation. But it's not going to get your flight rescheduled!

Where are you flying from?

I would put your energy into thinking of things to do at the airport.
At least you have been told before hand

JollyHostess101 · 18/12/2023 18:24

If it’s t5 (I cannot comment on others as I don’t work there but it’s worth the ask) you can ask and they can call up to see if they could accept your bags earlier so you can go through earlier when you arrive! I’d absolutely have no problem doing that in this circumstance.

I doubt you’d get much compensation as it’s only 3 hours and a strike is out of airlines hands really!!

Let the people on strike know...
