To think we might be over covid for Christmas?

Feeling a bit miserable because I currently have covid. I started feeling like I'd caught a cold Wednesday but got worse. I am feeling slightly better, although some symptoms get better one then seems to get worse (fever and headaches improved, cough and conngestion worse). Haven't tested kids, they both appear to have colds so there is a decent chance they have it mildly. DH testing negative but starting to feel unwell.

Meant to be visiting my parents on Christmas day, AIBU to think we might all be better by then (Or at least not contagious and well enough to be around family)? DH thinks we should make a back up plan.

Also if you have any tips for getting over it faster/stopping husband getting it that would be welcome.

I didn't have my vaccine this year - I normally get it at work but I'm on maternity leave. I'd have had it if I'd been offered it!

Have you asked your parents if they’re bothered if you’ve all a bit ill on the day? There’s every chance they won’t mind.

I’d think there’s a good chance you’ll all be feeling mostly better, especially if you eat well and keep active over the next few days.

It’s still a week away, you’ll very probably be over it by then. Ask your parents what their view is. Mine wouldn’t have any issue with hosting people with Covid now, as long as they were feeling well enough to be out of the house. Then the back up plan if you do need to stay at home is just whatever you’d usually do for food if you felt really unwell and not up for doing much.

I suspect they'll be happy as long as we test negative on lat flows. Last time my mother had covid that was how she decided when she could see people again

There is a chance that your DH may catch it between now and Christmas so a back up plan for that situation sounds sensible.
