Hives. She has hives… no idea why, I’ll have to figure out the cause, but it’s definitely that as I get it when I’m in contact with a certain animal I’m allergic to. She’s a bit itchy but ok when given piriton and I’ve put some cream on the bumps.

anyway she has nursery tomorrow, it’s ok for her to go right? I’ll tell the staff about it and was going to ask them to keep a record of what she’s eating there ect so I can try and pin point what’s causing it…

Yeah it’s fine. It’s not a contagious illness.

WeightoftheWorld · 13/12/2023 20:50

I would say fine as long as they know to keep a closer eye on her, she has the antihistamine there to be given if needed and she's not otherwise unwell or distressed with it. However at our nursery they wouldnt give antihistamine in that circumstance unless it had been prescribed...so that would be the difficulty we'd have.

It's fine. I did that with my son and they didn't mind at all.

My daughter went through a random hive spell and we sent her to nursery no problems. Just make them aware, ask them to let you know if they get worse/potential triggers and pack the antihistamine

Absolutely fine! Just sure you fill in any form that they might need to give her the anti-histamine and cream.

It can take a while to pinpoint what causes it so you can’t keep her off until you find out!

Hope she isn’t too uncomfortable 😊

Yes it’s fine. My daughter developed hives totally randomly at nursery one day. I took her to the pharmacy and they prescribed antihistamines and so nursery were able to give that to her. If she’s well in herself and not infectious can’t see what the problem would be.

Thanks everyone, I will definitely have a chat with the staff in the morning when dropping off, as I would like to find out what’s causing it. She’s been itchy but definitely better once she had the piriton. They will give it to her if I fill in a form so I will do that.
