To speak to the teacher

DS9 has come home the last 3 days with his fruit snack uneaten. Today I asked him why he's suddenly stopped eating it and he has told me that the class has just moved tables (they do every few months) and he has been sat next to a classmate who absolutely reeks of cigarette smoke (I'm not suggesting it's the child, I've seen their parents smoke outside the school gates). He said it smells so strongly that he doesn't want to eat his snack as it makes him feel a bit sick.

Would you speak to the teacher about this, or would you tell DS that he's just got to deal with it whilst eating his snack?

Definitely speak to the teacher.

Poor kid.

I'd probably mention it to the teacher but also tell my child to eat his snack too.

Can he not eat his snack when he goes out on the playground or do they have to sit at their tables to eat it?

fitz77 · 13/12/2023 17:07

@2dogsandabudgie They have to sit at their tables for their snack.

Id speak to the teacher (mostly in sympathy for the other boy - it might help him).

Wouldn't the teacher already know if it was that strong?

Yes the teacher will want to know.
