To have told my hairdresser I'm not happy

I had a hair appointment the other day, and had my roots done, some foils and a cut and blow dry. It's the second time I have had foils done. The first time she did babylights, and it made my hair look a really nice ashy brown with darker roots.

Yesterday, the plan was to have that topped up as for the last 4 visits or so I've just had my roots done. However, this time it has a stripey effect rather than being subtly blended in like it was the first time. The stripes are mainly at the front section of my hair, and are more obvious when my hair is tied up (which is it is 90% of the time).

I did notice that it didn't look quite right in the salon but it was only when I got home that i realised how bad it looks. I really hate it. I phoned my hairdresser and told her I'm not keen on the stripey effect and asked if something could be done to blend it a bit
She was OK about it. They are really booked up because of Christmas but she is fitting me in next week. She said my only choice will be to go darker again, whereas I'm happy with the colour, I just want it blended better as it was the first time.

I am feeling quite bad about the whole thing as she has been my hairdresser for a while and is normally pretty good. She is a senior stylist. Was I unreasonable to ask to go back?

This picture isn't great as the light is all wrong and the colour isn't as warm as it looks in the picture, but you can see the stripey effect I've ended up with at the front.

Surely she just need to add some baby highlights in between the stripes to even it out? (I'm no hairdresser but..)

That is indeed very stripey and I think they’re right that the only option is to go darker

Yes, I think that might work. Just something to soften the blocks of colour.
