I've adopted a DC2 on my own - all going great but they don't walk (not even close to walking) and have other delays & disabilities (not disclosed to me until they were placed with me) so it's hard to communicate with them in general as I'm not sure how much they understand.
They want to be in the same room as me & held or carried between rooms. As I have a tiny house I'm always in and out of rooms - eg if I am getting our things ready to go to a playgroup etc that involves lots of trips to pretty much every room in my house gathering up the bits we need. There isn't any room to create a hub or storage to contain everything in one place.

I'm not super organised (ADHD) so telling me to get everything ready the night before won't really help (as I do already know this, just can't do it) and bags of baby stuff always need replenishing each trip etc.

My back is absolutely killing me, they are about 13kg and I'm not very big or strong, never have been, but I've never had back problems before and thought I was very healthy until now! I never get a break, no help until they start nursery PT in a few months time and I go back to work PT.

Is there a really easy sling I can use that I can wear permanently when in the house so they can be carried in that and I can be hands free? I use a Manduca XT when I'm out of the house and although it's been fitted properly it still ends up pulling my pelvis forward and hurting my back after a while. Plus it's too bulky to wear all day.

Is there a solution? They fiercely cry if I walk out of the room. It's been 5 months. Do I just sell my house and buy a level apartment and knock out all of the walls? I hope there's a sling solution which might be the answer.

I’m not sure if it will be massively different to the manduca as I’m not familiar with that but a Tula or toddler Tula maybe? I would put my kids in that when they were 3 or 4 even and needing to be close while I was cooking or doing other jobs. But I must admit that would only ever be a couple hours a day. All day long might end up sore no matter what so on that front hot baths and a foam roller will help.

Sorry I didn't mean I would wear the child all day long - just the sling and the child when needed eg when I'm trying to get things done around the house

Maybe see if there’s a sling library near you so you can try different options. What works for one body type doesn’t always work for another! Hope you can find something comfy that allows you to keep LO close without causing you so much discomfort.
