My skin is ruining my life and I’m only 27

Sorry for gross pictures.

It’s been the same for years. I have tried absolutely everything. I’ve stuck to strict skincare routines, but it hasn’t helped. I’ve recently had a round of 3 chemical peels, extractions and LED light therapy but it’s made zero difference. I was then recommended to have microneedling but can’t afford £350 for 3 sessions right now, and I’ve heard it’s not effective anyway.

I always see people upset about one spot or one red patch on their face and I feel awful. I look like a pizza, I have redness and holes and sagging skin and bobbles ALL over my chin. It’s got to the point I’m avoiding taking pictures now because you can see craters in my face and sagging skin like I’m old.

I feel like giving up. What can I do 🙁

You have to have active acne treated first, ask for dermatology referral.
In meanwhile dinanette contraceptive pill and clinadamycin topical solution (dalacin t) both on prescrition from gp

I hope you get to see a dermatologist soon.

I found that disturbing my skin as little as possible minimised the irritation. So wash with just a flannel and warm water. Use unscented moisturiser for dry skin. Sounds counter intuitive I know, but it helped me.

I would agree with this, Op.

My DD has waited 6 months for a GP referral to a dermatologist, but she did get the referral itself very easily. Good luck.

I suffered acne on my face, jaw line, chest, back and shoulders for over ten years. 😢
I spent so much money on "the best" products, facials, you name it (diet, water, supplements). It was so frustrating and demoralizing to be told, Oh, you need to try this all natural product, etc. I had cystic and "regular" acne that would go through phases of clearing up then return.
Seeing my doctor and a derm about it -finally- was what changed everything.
I won't name the meds as it's up to OP to discuss with doctor and everyone has different needs, but for me it was a combo of two meds orally and one topical. I stayed on one med for over a decade and got to the point of needing the topical occasionally.
I can and do (!) go make-up free and shock of all shocks am often told how great my skin is.
Am able to tolerate occasional facials as a treat and am always told my skin is great.
There are a few types of acne that can only be managed medically. OP looks to be a candidate for that, especially considering everything she has tried.
(Sorry for the essay)
