Mine said 'mummy, there are men under the bed, watching you' without blinking during a powercut. Pretty much wins the unsettling toddler competition, at least by my standards

My 4yo Grandson a week or two ago “Nanny, when I was big and I died, I came back as a baby to Mummy and Daddy. When you die, will you come back as a baby?”

MammaWeasel · 04/12/2023 18:25

When do was just shy of 2yo, toddling through a graveyard where we used to feed the squirrels. She stopped and looked into the middle distance and said, " awwwww......no cry.........it be alright......no cry"

😳

Coffeeebean · 04/12/2023 18:34

My DGodson 'i want to see what colour you are on the inside"

Agreed!

Had to take my little girl to the children's centre at the local hospital for a blood test recently, and as we were sitting waiting in the completely empty waiting room she pointed at the corner repeatedly, saying 'look mama, little girl!'

She's also taken to running 'away' from something in our living room, hiding her face in my neck and saying 'so scary!' while pointing behind her 🤦

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 04/12/2023 18:58

‘There’s a man at the end of my bed’. Night after night she said this.
MIL, who lived in the house before us, used to say the same thing 🫣

Tulipvase · 04/12/2023 19:03

There is dark in you daddy. Whilst looking at my husband in the rear view mirror.

Same child often used to talk about balls of light flying around his room.

timeforacoffeebreak · 04/12/2023 19:04

I've had to turn the Alexa on to carry on reading these... I'm the only one home !

Moofart · 04/12/2023 19:09

Once at the park my son said "there's a girl in the pond mummy". Found out a few years later that actually a girl had fallen in and died in the pond.

TulipTuesday · 04/12/2023 19:14

DS2 regularly said ‘There he is!’ And point to the garden of a random house whenever we passed. When we asked who he’d seen, he’d just say ‘The man’
There was never anyone there.

MonsteraMama · 04/12/2023 19:16

The first time meeting great granny face to face daughter said "I remember you, you used to visit me when I was old".

RockAndRollerskate · 04/12/2023 19:20

“One day mummy, me and daddy and <little brother > will die. Not you though. You will still be here”

Pastlast · 04/12/2023 19:21

Skimble is watching us. He lives in the walls but only comes out at night.

said in very matter of fact way by DS1 aged 3

P.S I love creepy toddler threads

SnowAndIcicles · 04/12/2023 19:23

My son, a few years ago when he was two, said to me quite seriously, "Tell the people, fire is coming." It was weird and still makes me feel unnerved.

AngelinaFibres · 04/12/2023 19:25

My SIL died suddenly of an aeortic aneurism. Her adult daughter and 3 year old grandson were living with BIL and SIL at the time. BIL and daughter were in the kitchen. Grandson was chatting away in the living room. His mother went in and asked who he was talking to. " My granny, she's in the corner." He pointed to where she was.

What did great granny say to that?

pinkfony · 04/12/2023 19:28

Me - "yum, cinnamon is nice"
T - "Cinnamummy"
Me - "do you mean cinnamon?"
T - "no, cinnamummy....like the one who lives upstairs" pointing upstairs to the loft!!!

Go on tik tok and search " creepy things toddlers say ". The hairs on the back of your neck will stand on end

It's only half 7 and I'm regretting reading these whilst DD is in bed and DH is out at football 😭

She was a bit taken aback but was always a bit woo so just said something like "Did I indeed? Well now you're visiting me when I'm old!" and then moved on.

That’s weirdly moving.

I love these threads. There’s more creepiness in almost every single post than in a whole episode of that podcast they made into a tv series.

Iheartmysmart · 04/12/2023 19:34

I remember DS sitting beside me patting my hand saying were you sad when my brother died mummy. I’d had a miscarriage at 16 weeks a couple of years before DS was born but we’d never mentioned it to him. It would have been a boy.

JackGrealishsCalves · 04/12/2023 19:36

My ds when he was about 3, mid afternoon in his bedroom just looked up into the top corner, pointed and said Mummy who's that man?
I took him downstairs fairly sharpish
