Baby girl has bronchiolitis, got discharged from the hospital at 8pm last night after being in all day yesterday monitoring she's slept all day and when the doctor checked her around 7pm she was alert and smiley she's been sleeping ever since we left the hospital she's only managed 2oz of milk in 9/10 hours I'm worried. Every time she's feeding she's falling falling asleep. She's got a temp too, doctors did say it may get worse. But when is worse time to go hospital ☹️ please advise

You’d be best to ring 111 for advice

Cuthbertsrevenge · 01/12/2023 04:54

Can you phone the ward? Some often give open access for a couple of days after discharge.

She probably needs to go back in I'm afraid. Call for advice or take her in now.

How old is she?

Yes I have the ward number, ambulance would be the quickest way for me to get there I don't drive and my family and all asleep I can't get through to anyone

Ring 111 or go back to a and e
We've just had a week in hospital due to bronchiolitis in my newborn , the main issues they are concerned about is if they are feeding less than half of their normal feeds , difficulty drinking and most importantly is there any breathing distress - pulling from the ribs or at the base of the throat when breathing .

Good luck! Hope she's ok.

(I've been through this with two babies.)

MeinKraft · 01/12/2023 05:03

Hope she's ok. If she was discharged at 8pm what time did she go to bed? As I wouldn't be unduly concerned at her sleeping all night with being unwell and the disruption to her usual routine. But certainly give the ward a ring back and see what they think!

She was probably awake and alert yesterday for about an hour all day 7-8pm and has been sleeping ever since

I’d either keep ringing family (surely someone will be up soon) or call a cab and head back to A&E.
