So a tree hit my car at work recently. A couple
of hours after storm warning. Workplace opened as warning had passed. Damage is 2,000 pounds. Work in small company. Boss told me he will use company insurance and they will cover it. Since found out they won’t. I have to use mine, and was told apparently they then look to company’s insurance, from mine. But it means claiming against my workplace and proving liability. I don’t have the stomach for anything like that, and would feel awful affecting my company with a claim. Also, I’ve never had a mark on my insurance. Even though tree falling clearly not my fault, I don’t want it I have any claims on it, where it can be avoided. Also, they’re probably not liable for fallen tree hours after a storm. AIBU to just leave it all at this stage, and not go through insurance? Help!!
