Ds 6 needs antibiotics and his course is due at 11pm

I said to DH to give it to him at 9.30 before he goes to bed but he insisted to give it to him at 11. So at 11, he tried to put a syringe into DS mouth while he was asleep and squirt the antibiotics in without him waking up.

Ds woke up and started resisting so DH pinned him down and forced it down.

I just felt so triggered by the whole thing but maybe I am overreacting?

Nope, you wouldn’t like it if it happened to you either. So it’s not an overreaction. Defo needs to take the antibiotics though, can’t you change the timings?

That's what I said, every 8 hours so change to 9.30 then wake up at 6.30 for next dose which is 9 hrs, which I think is close enough

Don't try to squirt stuff into a sleeping child's mouth!
Suppose he inhales it instead of swallowing it.

As for your husband pinning child down, board line abuse.

Neither of you seem to be very responsible parents. Where did you get the idea that antibiotics heed to be given 4 or so hours after your child is asleep?

Pharmacist here, spread the doses throughout the day, but don't try to drown your child in his sleep. Last dose at bedtime is fine.

Paeds nurse here! 8 hourly antibiotics are just 3 times a day - breakfast, dinner and tea is a fine way to spread the doses and usually what I tell parents to do, as long as there is 4-5 hours between each dose.

Get a syringe, fill it with water, then squirt it in your husband's mouth while he is asleep. See how he likes it!
I am obviously not seriously suggesting you do this but what was he thinking?!

Thank you, appreciate it. I will let him know

Thanks for calling us irresponsible parents - our son just had surgery and it's a very emotional time but sure
