Just need to have a small pity party

It's my birthday. I've woken up at 5am alone. Single no kids so expected this but for some reason still hurts a bit. Just wish I was having a nice birthday coffee with a partner. Neither of my parents have sent me a card. Cousin sent me bottle of wine when Im allergic to wine which she knows. Other cousin sent me a weird ugly Christmas decoration. No hot water as tank went yesterday, plumber came out and said he'd fixed it. It isn't fixed. Family birthday plans cancelled for Sunday due to train strikes.
Can I just opt out of today please???

Happy Birthday! I learned a while ago if I want to do something for my birthday I need to make it happen! Wallow in your pity for half an hour then do something you enjoy, whatever it is. You can still make the day enjoyable! X

Please do something to treat yourself today - I’m also in favour of a nice coffee and a slice of cake. Not sure if you’re working today? If so, take in some biscuits or cupcakes and get everyone to celebrate with you. If not, grab a book and spend a couple of hours in a nice coffee shop watching the world go by. Watch your favourite film in your PJs this evening.

I know it’s not the birthday you want, and it’s a shame that people aren’t more thoughtful, my family, excluding partner, are exactly the same! Time to treat yourself how you want to be treated xxx

I’d allow yourself a pity party, maximum one hour, then stride off to work knowing today will be all about you & you’re going to throw in as many treats as you can.
on your way home pick up your favourite takeaway. Lounge gear on when you get home. Don’t move from the sofa. Remote/ control/book/knitting/journal…whatever brings you joy.
