Prob all of the above

morningpaper · 13/03/2008 10:24

but if you write a boring thread title no one replies

you need to raise people's hackles if you want a decent hoo-ha

bored probably or they think they are being funny when in actual fact you have to be very clever to be sarcastic

herny · 13/03/2008 10:27

just think they want to stir it up a little & lets face it they do

mrsruffallo · 13/03/2008 10:28

Agree Kerry Mum.

wannaBe · 13/03/2008 10:28

true mp but one must be careful to find middle ground. too boring and it gets ignored, too judgy and it gets deleted. you have to be able to inject just the right amount of judgyness into the title so as not to get everyone's hackles up but to ensure that you still have a healthy discussion.

harpsichordcarrier · 13/03/2008 10:34

trolling, usually
when you have been here long enough you just learn to ignore

BandofMothers · 13/03/2008 10:36

You know, I have been away for a couple mths now, and it seems MN has become a bit strained, in that everyone is so suspicious of threads now, and people are trying to cause trouble and upset

How has this all come about???

Apart from the challenge thread thing, what's been going on?

mrsruffallo · 13/03/2008 10:38

I think the challenge thread has had a very negative effect.
I know it was meant in a jokey way but not very funny at all

policywonk · 13/03/2008 10:42

Sometimes people say things on here that they wouldn't say in RL for fear of the reaction they'd get - it's a way of voicing transgressive ideas.
