  • KNOCK ON THE WALL. BLOODY FAT FINGERS.

AIBU to let the neighbour know that I can hear them?

Hear me out. I'm not a prude, honest.

For months, I've been puzzled by random shaking in my flat. Seriously, the whole flat (top floor of a town-house) would shake. Sometimes for quite a while. Considered that it might be large lorries driving past, earthquakes, trains, etc. I was always in the lounge when this happened.

Then one day it happened when I was in my bedroom. It was accompanied by some very loud groaning from my neighbour - and I suddenly realised what it was.

It's happening quite frequently now. At least once every other day. Very loud. Lots of shaking. It was ok before I realised what it was.

I've tried ignoring it. But I can't. I literally can't block it out. It's also bringing back some very unpleasant memories.

I know I can't do anything. But I'm struggling.

Grab a long handle broom and batter the shit out of the wall every single time.

They'll soon get the picture.

Your neighbour wanks so hard you mistook it for an earthquake? 🤔

😂

Honestly I would find some tongue in cheek music and play it loudly when he is getting busy ..... hopefully get the hint

OP, I think I would put a note under the door which suggests that you don't know what the noise is but at certain times (give a few examples or a rough time frame if it is the same every time) there is a noise which is very loud and even shakes the floor so you wanted to bring it to his attention in case it was something which could be sorted.

My brother and his now husband had a visit from one of their neighbours a couple of years ago after his husband had just moved in with him. She looked very sheepish but basically told them that she could hear their bed banging against the partition wall of their terraced house and she thought he might like to know.
He was mortified and they promptly moved the bed!

Didn't say he was wanking, did I? He is probably going at it with his partner - I just happened to say that it was a male voice that I heard just before the shaking stopped.

You said you thought it was just one person so it's hardly a leap is it?
