I've been offered a job by an ex colleague at her new company. I'm in the US, in case that matters!

Current position
61,750 annual + 12,000+ annual bonus
Worked for company for 8 years, promoted 4 times during that time. Was passed over for next level this year though
Permanently WFH, no travel
Is in the area I'm expert at
Management are difficult
12 weeks paid mat leave.
Get almost 6 weeks PTO/AL. Increaes to 7 in 2years.

New position
83,000 + 9000+ annual bonus
Large company, about the same as my current company. For profit.
Promotion - next career step
WFH, but with 3ish weeks travel a year to sites across the US
Is in a related area but I have no expert knowledge in it so far.
4 weeks PTO/AL, increases to 5 in 5 years.
No maternity benefits until 1 year of employment.

Honestly the only reason I'm considering this is the salary increase. With the COL being what it is and being the only earner that's a huge increase.

Also these are in USD, I know this sounds a lot more in GBP per year, but by the time you've removed basic necessities like tax, health insurance, 401K, HSA, current job comes to 3000USD or 2400GBP/month and we still have to pay our medical bills on top so it's a good salary but not crazy high or anything.

Title was supposed to be 'To follow the money', so I'm not sure what I did to change it to an old name! Requested a change - sorry!

When you say management are difficult currently, is that causing problems/stress for you? I’ve left jobs I’ve enjoyed just because of team dynamics. The jobs look comparable (to me - no experience in US though), what will the take home pay difference be after tax? Are you planning another baby soon? Mat leave could be an issue, though assume that’s similar in a lot of new jobs.
It’s a shame the new one doesn’t offer medical incentives, must be tough in the US having to factor that in, and pay for the insurance,

They can definitely cause stress sometimes! But I'm also not naive to the fact mostbig companies have that kind of person in a management role. Not sure if it's better the devil I know!

The new role does also offer health benefits, its just that they never cover everything so you end up paying hundreds a month in premiums then still $100+ every time you or your child are unwell and need a doctor. Surgeries/ER visits are thousands up to your deductible even with insurance.

I was planning to TTC soon, but a year wouldn't be a huge problem hopefully! It took a while with the 1st anyway.

Thanks for your thoughts!
