To ask if you think this sounds like a good rental deal?

£1,200 p/m to rent a 3 bedroom terraced house in a affluent area of a city (the right side for easy commuting to work), 15 minute walk to the city centre and a 2 minute walk to the local high street (shops, eateries, bars, etc). Fully furnished and decorated to a high standard with a homely feel and a low maintenance, landscaped garden. All bills, including council tax, included in that price. On street parking is probably the biggest downside.

YABU - too expensive
YANBU - fair price

It would be fair where I live (North West), but can’t answer your question without knowing your location.

CeeChynaa · 22/11/2023 00:16

Well seeing how my rent is £1450 for a one bedroom flat, I think that sounds bloody amazing🤯 especially as you’d also have a garden! What would the travel be like for work? I think it sounds great

All bills, including heating and electric?
Probably expensive for many areas and cheap for others. Really depends on where the area is.

Thedogscollar · 22/11/2023 00:19

When you say all bills incl do you mean gas, electricity, water rates plus council tax?
If so that is one helluva deal. I'd be snapping it up.

We need to know how much you earn before we can vote.

Yes. Rent, gas and electric, water, council tax, internet, TV licence.

It's a Midlands city for others commenting.

No we don't. It's totally irrelevant to whether that's a good price to rent that property.

@onamidsummer

it really depends where it is & which city 😊

you've made it sound brilliant though. We don't have a 'city' near here. Just a few shops in a village & a 20-30 min drive into one of 6 'towns'

it would cost £1700 plus here, (SE - not London & not coastal just suburban)

You defo have to go for it. That sounds amazing

JztBlzd · 22/11/2023 00:28

Sounds like a good price. Are you worried it sounds too good to be true?

Purpleraiin · 22/11/2023 00:33

I'm in a Midlands town, rent is £820pcm, unfurnished, 3 bed terrace, On Street parking, dated kitchen and bathroom. Nice area though but in a village so only a convenience shop within walking distance, town centre is about 5 miles away. The other bills you've listed probably cost me around another £500 pm. I know my rent is also actually fairly cheap for the area.
I think what you've posted is a very good deal

SABM10 · 22/11/2023 00:41

OP are you the prospective landlord or tenant? If landlord, I really REALLY wouldn't include all bills - maybe fixed ones (council tax, water, internet) if that's your preference but I know that many people (me included tbh) would be having daily baths and heating the whole house etc if I had no responsibility for gas and electric. I spend about 200 a month on utilities for a one bed flat so the bill for a three bed could be astronomical.

To answer your question, that would be a very good deal here but I am in Bristol, which is (I think) the second most expensive city after London so may not be relevant!
