To think what the actual fuck is wrong with me

I’ve felt absolutely atrocious the last few months. Bloated, brittle thin hair, always absolutely exhausted, my mood being really up and down. The last few weeks my mental health has never been worse, I’m crying all the time. I have spent the last few days asleep all day. I’ve hit rock bottom.
I was absolutely convinced I had thyroid issues. I have every single symptom down to insomnia, thin hair, exhaustion and mental issues.

My bloods have just came back, including antibodies, and they’re all normal. All my other bloods such as vitamins, iron, b12
im absolutely devastated. I’d rather take a pill for the rest of my life rather than feel like this with zero explanation.

I feel the worst I’ve ever felt and with no explanation. I don’t even know what else it could be.
I feel so deflated and want to give up

Maybe lack of zinc?

Going through similar thing myself, though my TSH levels are higher at 3.5 (T4 same as yours OP). I'm having private blood tests on thyroid again as I didn't realise it was best to do it fasting and without having had any B vitamins before.

I sleep really badly, and it's a bit chicken and egg - I don't know if thyroid / vitamin lack etc is causing lack of sleep or lack of sleep is causing the thyroid scores to not be ideal.

What was your iron result? I was told mine was ‘normal’ for years but I was actually right at the lower end of the normal range and taking iron supplements made me feel much better.

Did they check your ferritin? If so, what was the level?

bulletproofcoffee · 22/11/2023 08:55

Not ruling out anything else, but I felt v. similar. Ferratin was fine according to DR - when I asked for a print out, my Ferratin was 34. Most other guidance other than NHS says this is too low. I have managed to get mine up to 48 in the past 3 months, and I have seen improvment. Not 100% perfect but better. As someone else wrote here, look into B12, Iron, D3 levels. Then NHS may say you are OK but you would benefit from a supplement.

Did they test your glucose ?

Unabletomitigate · 22/11/2023 09:00

What are you eating?
I came across Georgia Ede on youtube, and it is worth watching. She is mental health doctor based in the US and thinks a lot of mental health and energy dysfunction can be traced back to diet.

Is it cyclical? I'm on HRT and was only 40 when I got put on it. I think I actually have PMDD but it really helps with that and it was getting unmanageable.

My other thoughts are exhaustion or breastfeeding (haven't read entire thread) if you are doing that. I didn't realise how much breastfeeding for such a long time fucked me up. I'm so different from what I used to be pre kids. Kids have not done my health and body confidence any favours.

Sometimes it's just how you feel though and it's how you feel about your life now. I'm stressed all of the time which makes me feel probably worse than I am. I try and eat well and exercise, but busyness doesn't help.

Could this be anything to worry about?
