Have you had the flu jab this year?

Been struggling to get the flu jab this year, local pharmacists seemed to have stopped doing them already. Just wondering if I should keep trying or give up. Early 40s and have had the jab the last couple of years. Have most people had it this year?

Try Day Lewis or an independent pharmacy if you can't get in at Boots, they often have availability.

Hi,

Yes I had it at my GP practice not so long ago just done by the healthcare assistant.
I had missed it out for a good few years, and thought it might be worthwhile having it, as I'd had quite a few chest issues during that time.

I get offered it by the GP and have had the text this year.
I haven’t had it but assume they have stock if they are calling people up

My local Tesco pharmacy is available to book up to mid December online. Lots of appts (Wales)

I’ve paid for one for years and in previous years have always managed to get one locally, but this year I struggled to find anywhere nearby. I had to travel miles to an Asda pharmacy in another town in the end.

Yes in Sept - flu one arm Covid the other (auto immune conditions meant GP called me to a flu clinic) - no side effects apart from sore arms.

Actually got flu 2 weeks later! Floored me but I suspect less so than if I hadn't had the jab.

Cookerhood and DragonFly98 it doesn't work that way here (Scotland). I get a text message with an appointment and a link to available appointment times should I wish to change it. These are often during flu/covid vaccine clinics. It's been done that way for years, so I've no reason to think this winter will be different.
I did get a letter saying appointments would be issued in due course, but I've not heard anything yet.

I walked straight into Morrisons, no appointment required, asked the pharmacist and I was given the jab about 5 mins later.

Went to my appointment on Monday, got the flu jag and was offered and also took the covid booster (Scotland). One in each arm.

Slightly bruised feeling arms but otherwise absolutely no side effect for me this time. Which was a pleasant surprise, with the previous two covid boosters I spent several hours during the night being sick.
