I do, whatever my life is like, I find Sundays hard..anyone else? If you do, how do you combat it?

Is it the whole going back to work tomorrow anxiety?

if I were you I’d find something fun to do every Sunday. Even if it’s just the morning or lunchtime.

gwanmen · 12/11/2023 17:29

Yes, what is this?! It was always my mum's worst day too

FredaFox · 12/11/2023 17:31

I hate Sundays too Especially from day 4pm
It's like that's it back to work (and I don't even hate my job)

Devilsmommy · 12/11/2023 17:31

There's a reason it's called suicide Sunday, can't recall what it was but that's how I've always seen it

TroysMammy · 12/11/2023 17:31

Me too but I don't normally work Mondays and Tuesdays so it's not the going back to work thing although I am working every day for the next 2 weeks covering a colleague's annual leave

Sleepeezey · 12/11/2023 17:33

I do. Especially at this time of year. I don’t work Mondays. I just treat it as a nesting day mostly. Get some light on my face with a walk, but then just nest at home.

Foreverdecorating · 12/11/2023 17:33

I love Sundays because they are a day off of work. I think it is probably the type of thing you just need to train your brain to think differently about. They're better than Monday to Friday but I don't tend to hate any day

Evaka · 12/11/2023 17:33

I love Sundays and find it sad that so many people can't enjoy the day off, often due to work jitters. Can you find a hobby you love or an uplifting activity to do on Sundays?

crochetmonkey74 · 12/11/2023 17:36

Yeah it's not particularly back to.work anxiety as I have it when I'm on holiday too.
Also had it since very young, and regardless of life experience/period/emotions it has always been a tricky day. I go out and do things , exercise and meet a friend etc. I watch an evening film but the whole day is just meh

I starting hating them as a young single Mum many years ago, no shops to window shop around with the pushchair, loads of families in the park, and I had no help or support so it was always just me from 4am when DD woke. They were long days, especially in winter! Still drag now.

What is your general routine on Sundays OP?

crochetmonkey74 · 12/11/2023 17:37

Daily routine on Sunday is gym or swim, meet a friend afterwards for coffee, home for prep jobs for week ahead then an evening film with a different friend. Lots of lovely stuff, no complaints but I'm often dragging myself through it

catandgirlmum · 12/11/2023 17:38

Yes I always have since being a child. And I can't put it down to going back to work tomorrow because I don't work on a Monday. I hated Sundays as a child because it would be when my Dad would drop me off back at my Mum's and I wouldn't see him for a week. I think my hate for Sundays started then and has never left.

Vegetus · 12/11/2023 17:43

I hate all days equally 😂

Girasoli · 12/11/2023 17:45

No I quite like Sundays, Saturdays are always really busy - swimming/birthday parties/errands etc. so Sundays feel relaxed in comparison. I wfh Mondays so I feel like I 'ease back in to the week.

PosyPrettyToes · 12/11/2023 17:47

Yes. From about 6pm I start feeling unaccountably sick and anxious

TerfTalking · 12/11/2023 18:04

Not since I gave up work, I love Mondays now, and I’ve made it my wash day and I’m still not miserable.

Britneyfan · 12/11/2023 18:07

Yes, I hate Sundays but a lot of that is sheer dread about the work week ahead especially Mondays which are even worse than any other day.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 12/11/2023 19:04

Hate weekends altogether. Just driving kids around to activities, them doing their homework, doing all the washing, catching up on my degree work and bits of work left from the week. Does not feel like a rest at all.

Oblomov23 · 12/11/2023 19:20

No. We get housework washing and ironing done on a Friday night and first thing Saturday morning. Sunday we take ds2 to football. In the afternoon we watch a film, watch football, relax, sometimes have an early siesta. We prep for the week ahead. Sunday night we relax, do to bed early. I like my job so don't dred Mondays.

crochetmonkey74 · 12/11/2023 19:23

Definitely not connected to dreading work

Youcannotbeseriousreally · 12/11/2023 19:30

I hear the antiques roadshow theme tune and then panic that I’ve not done my homework.

Then I remember I’m an adult now! The Sunday night dread remains the same though tbh

curtaintwitcher78 · 12/11/2023 19:31

If you go a bit funny when you hear the That's Life theme tune then you're in my tribe.

largeprintagathachristie · 12/11/2023 19:33

Yes, by Sunday early evening I’m fighting an overpowering feeling that I haven’t done my homework.
I’m 53.

Beaverbridge · 12/11/2023 19:34

Always hated Sundays. Absolute drag of a day, retired now so it's not the thought of work.
