To ask how often you wash worn items?

I have this habit of wanting to wear something different everyday sometimes I might just wear a jumper to the school run so it's not dirty but not clean enough to go back in the wardrobe and just gets put in a pile down my
side of the bed and this happens until I have a pile of worn briefly clothes clogging up my side and I was just wondering if this is normal as dh puts everything in the wash that's he's worn even for half an hour.

Why can't you put a jumper you've worn once back in the wardrobe?

It's ridiculous but I do this too, and I get super pissed when my husband puts worn once clothes back in the kids drawers. I got a basket for "worn once" stuff , it even says it in it... but it never gets used as such as my family don't understand my ridiculousness

Tops, bras, socks I wear twice
Knickers once
Trousers/jeans I wear a handful of times or until they're visibly dirty
Gym stuff once unless I didn't sweat

You wear socks twice?? Surely not?

I put things back in the wardrobe. I can't think what people imagine might happen if you do this. I have cardigans i wear over and over and don't wash. They all get hung back in the wardrobe between wearings.

I think for me it's the worn once smell going on the properly clean stuff. But yeah it's daft 😂

I hang things up on a coathanger or over a rack on the radiator to 'air' them, then put them away in the wardrobe or drawer the next day.

I'm not sure why, but taking something off and folding it up or putting it away straight away feels slightly weird (DISCLAIMER: am not weird and I use towels many times before washing them).

Pants, socks, t shirts - once
Bras, pjs- a few days
Jumpers, trousers - til they are dirty or smelly!

I just fold them on top of my chest of drawers. Usually have two pairs of trousers or jumpers going so can alternate a bit over the week.

My standard uniform is jeans, a plan t-shirt and a shirt half buttoned up.

I wear the jeans for most of the week. The shirt I generally wear 4/5 days because I only fling it on when I head go out on basic daily outings/meetings and take it off when I get home. The t-shirts I change daily so they go in the washing basket at night.

I keep the jeans on a chair in the bedroom and the shirt goes over the back of a dining room chair. Sometimes I'll change my mind on the shirt and I might put the first one back in the wardrobe if it's only been worn out once or twice. If not, I might have them both on the back of the chair until they're ready for the washing. There's always a t-shirt underneath so they dont get smelly.

Not gonna lie, if I don't leave the house for 2 days, sometimes the t-shirt goes that long too.

Amazed at pp only wearing jeans twice. I am obviously a skank 😁

Anyotherdude · 09/11/2023 00:28

Underwear, hosiery, shirts/tee-shirts, pyjamas, daily, jeans 4-5 wears, dress trousers twice, and dresses (worn over slips and not sweaty), jumpers, hoodies Etc. not worn directly in contact with pits and bits are hung up to air (with a spritz of fabric freshener), then hung back in wardrobe with hangers reversed to be worn once more… don’t like stuff on chairs!

LaurieStrode · 09/11/2023 00:44

I have a drawer for lightly worn jeans/jumpers. Anything next to skin (except jeans) is washed no matter how brief the wearing. But i don't change multiple times per day.
