Anyone else avoid phone calls, because you know something will be asked of you?
kids, parents, partners
feels like everyone wants a bit of me, they all want to vent, money( that one is only kids) favours ect ect.
im worn out!
just faked been at work when my son rang cus I know he’s gonna ask if his gf can stay over at Christmas and I really don’t want her to for a number of reasons, but mainly cus 14 year old ds finds in uncomfortable ( won’t use bathroom ect when she’s here. Feel like I’m picking sides.
just venting really.

You seem to be managing the situation quite well, just keep being unavailable when you're being asked to commit to something you don't want. The next step is to explain why these suggestions aren't appropriate/suitable and tell them the truth about why this is.

Avoiding isn't really going to deal with the issue. It is important to learn to say "no". Without apologising, without offering explanations. Simply say "no, this isn't going to work for me".
Is there a local wellbeing college in your area? They do brilliant free assertiveness courses.
