Here's my list of my first few jobs;
There was always too much rubbish so we had to take it turns to get in the bin and jump up and down on it so the lid would shut. We're talking about a huge industrial bin.
Ring people and ask them their BMI prior to appointments. For no real medical reason at all.
Arrive early and work unpaid for the first half hour so that the croissants would be cooked on time. No one ever questioned it.
Clean a big grease trap in a dishwasher which flooded the whole cafe knowing that the reason we had to mop for days straight was due to the company being too tight to pay someone to fix it.

I used to work alone until 1:30am in the summer holidays. I was 14 at the time. This was the late 2000s.

It was a fast food kiosk on a holiday park and the security guys outside the club kept an eye on me. I felt very grown up and trusted but I look back now and I'm horrified, I was only 4 years older than my DD now!

I was rolling in cash though. Made a couple of grand that summer.

Split shifts in a takeaway, so noon-4pm, then four hours off, then 8pm–midnight. I lived 30 minutes walk away so could either spend another hour per day walking on top of what I was already doing, or hang around the town centre for four hours. I stuck it out for three days and left when my boss refused to tell me how much he was planning on paying me.
