To want to go off Sertraline after 10 days

I’m not having major side effects but they’re annoying me and I’m worried they won’t subside!

I’ve woken up every morning so far at about 3/4am without fail and haven’t been able to get back to sleep
I wake up with the driest mouth and so so thirsty
I’ve felt really dissociated, tired and lazy, my brain feels full and I’ve never scrolled so much on my phone because I feel too overwhelmed and tired to do anything else
I can’t (sorry TMI) orgasm at all and it’s really annoying

I take my tablets in the morning so didn’t think the not sleeping would be a thing but it is.

I know it gets worse before it gets better, so do I stick this out? I know my side effects could be a lot worse?

It takes a long time to start working. And the side effects subside. Hang in there, they've been amazing for me. I feel grateful for how good my mental health has become every morning when I take them.

Any anti depressant takes, on average , 3 weeks to properly kick in. Did your GP not tell you this? I'm on Sertraline. The only side effect I've had is being really thirsty. Give it a few more weeks then if you're still struggling it's not right for you. Everyone reacts differently to different drugs. I'm considering going back to citalopram tbh, but a higher dose . Id asked for a higher dose previously , but the locum covering for my usual GP, suggested sertraline instead.

It's normally rough for the first few weeks, it won't have be properly working yet. I would definitely stick with it for at least another few weeks

Not every med works for everyone. But in my experience the side effects went away and the lack of crippling anxiety/panic/OCD has been a miracle. It’s a very individual thing. But obviously it depends what the side effects are - I was put on escitalopram first and it gave me suicidal thoughts so immediately went off it.

It can take a few weeks for sertraline to start working. I'm lucky, I haven't experienced the side effects you're talking about OP, sertraline has been a life saver for me. Saying that it took a while to figure out what medication worked for me. Usually when you start a new SSRI your GP will want to review it after the 1st 2 weeks, have you got a review appointment booked (if you can get one!)? I would advise talking to your GP before making any decisions about stopping the medication.
