Lidl, Asda, M&S, JL, Very all have launched ads! What do we all think?

Also found the M&S one really depressing. It seems to be targeted at resentful mums who put in too much effort, and people who hate family games, so I’m not the target audience. It could have had some happy bits interspersed between the gloom and dark humour. Not nice for kids watching.

It’s been pulled now hasn’t it?

Aldi ad is brilliant. Clever spoof linking to the new Willy Wonka film.

The Barbour one with Shawn the sheep is lovely and heart warming in a Repair Shop way!

AhBiscuits · 06/11/2023 20:50

The John Lewis one isn't out until Thursday.

I rarely watch 'commercial TV' channels, but expect to be as awful as they all have been.
They won't affect my purchases over the next couple of months.

Aldi ads wins hands down. Made me smile all the way through and laughed at points!

Agree the JL is depressing

Fatbirthdaygirl · 06/11/2023 20:55

I can't believe the John Lewis one I've seen is real. Not at all Christmassy & quite distressing really.

Reggiebo · 06/11/2023 20:59

JL one is on you tube.

Sartre · 06/11/2023 21:01

JL haven’t aired theirs yet have they? I saw the farmer vid when I searched on YouTube but I’m not convinced that’s their advert, is it?

I like the M&S and Waitrose ones.
