To choose Butlins over Centerparc??

Am I? I have fond childhood memories of Butlins ( had very young WC class parents, not much money but we had a few long weekends at local Butlins, the only time we stayed anywhere over night when we were kids ).
looking at a half term break at CP versus Butlins the prices are MAD at Centerparcs, plus so many activities seem to cost £!£ extra.
DP - bit of a holiday snob- is nixing Centerparcs in price but won’t go to Butlins!

I don’t think our kids will
care, pool? Check! Buffet food? Check! Room to run around, check!

Am I BU to go ahead and take the kids to Butlins on my own?

We did a day pass at butlins in Bognor and I was so pleased that we only went for one day as it was utterly crap .

The go karts we're so stiff i almost injured myself on them. The high ropes is crap. Half the fun fair was closed (this was peak) multiple slides in the pool closed. The rapids closed.

It was just a bit skanky and run down.

Your kids will not get anything out of butlins at the age they are.

Centre parcs is amazing

When our D.C. were little we did both. Kids enjoyed them all for the pools and the freedom and the staying up late but Butlins (and Haven) slightly had the edge because of the kids entertainment in the evening. Of all 3 they definitely preferred Haven because of the novelty of sleeping in a caravan.

The entertainment at Butlins and Haven was my idea of hell on earth but I loved watching them have fun and knowing how much money we were made things easier.
