To ask for charity Christmas present ideas

I love chocolate and socks and books, but after that my family don't really know what to get me and I don't really know what to suggest. (You might have previously read what I really need but the things I most need are beyond the reach of a Christmas present)

I thought maybe charity ideas could be good but am interested in suggestions.

Years ago someone bought me an oxfam goat which was good, but I heard later that that kind of thing isn't the best idea for the receiving community.

I've had a look and I found justdiggit.org and they are fighting climate change by planting trees.

I think toilet twinning is still going...? I saw that at church in the cubicles and it looked good.

Any other ideas and were they well received by the recipient?

Groceries to the local food bank. Anything that can't be skimmed by charity staff.

Look at Concern gifts.
I did a lot of research before choosing to donate to them regularly and they do a lot of good work.
They have a whole list of gifts ranging from a well to school books!

What is skimming by staff?

A lendwithcare.org voucher.

Lendwithcare is a revolutionary way to help people in low-income countries to work their way out of poverty with dignity. Through Lendwithcare, you can lend as little as £15 to fund a small business. Once your money is repaid, you can choose to recycle your loan to support more low-income entrepreneurs, make a donation or withdraw your funds.

Colchester toys to teens baby bank need new pyjamas in size 0-16 to give to the children they are helping for Christmas. Not the sort of thing you will be able to open though . It’s a really small charity a mum at my sons school helps run it

Another vote for Lend with Care. I've given my dad a few vouchers over the years and he has always reinvested so he's supported over 50 people/groups now.

Toilet twinning is favourite for this year (our work team choose something each year instead of doing a Secret Santa). Last year we adopted a HeroRat - they are trained to detect mines.
