My house is a bit of a state decor wise - combination of lack of time and money, and two kids with ASD who are full on.

This week I have repainted my living room, sprayed the radiators, and refinished a buffet I got from a junk shop.

I no longer look like I live in a squat and I’m now relaxing in the bath.

I must add none of this would be possible without my amazing PIL who had the boys twice this week.

I’m a real procrastinator, suffer with depression and find getting motivated hard but I’ve finished the week feeling very positive.

Well done! You’ve worked really hard and deserve the joy of looking at your lovely home knowing you overcame so much to get it there. Keep that positivity in mind!

Fantastic job OP! I saw the before pic of the chest of drawers and was just thinking it would look better with different handles - the ones you chose are gorgeous.

Proud of you! You’ve earned some R&R and definitely deserve to be satisfied with your achievements (that is what they are!) good on you :) if you’ve the energy you can keep chipping away a little at a time but if you don’t that’s not a totally bad thing. x

Good for you!!!
😀😀😀😀😀

Chickiwick · 12/11/2023 20:02

You are all so kind ❤️

I basically fight to keep the ‘darkness’ at bay. I suspect people who don’t know me well just think ‘oh it’s this now, is it?’ but I have to fight to stay on an even keel and keeping busy has been the most effective thing I’ve found.

So if that means I’m painting/crocheting/sewing/baking a lot of the time then so be it.

That's a beauty OP. What paint did you use on the pale green one? (Asking for a friend) 😉

Chickiwick · 13/11/2023 10:46

Fusion Mineral Paint in Brook.

It’s quite expensive but one 500ml pot did both the sideboard and chest of drawers and there’s still a bit left.

Well done! That sounds like an amazing accomplishment when you have so much going on

Thanks OP. I've used fusion before, it's good stuff but expensive as you say. Worth it though, it gives such a good finish.
