Hi all, so I've been getting sharp chest pains maybe once a weeks for a few months now shortness of breath and a couple of borderline ecgs, I'm currently on a 24 hour heart monitor my heart rate completely rested is around 88-100 slight movements 100-110 and walking or going up the stairs shoots up to 125-150 I'm 23 years old, slim built, is this normal or considered a tachycardic heart rate? My results will take a while to come back in trying to see if I'm overanalysing or if this is going to be a potential problem, thankyou

My daughter has this and we’ve been passed around various departments in the NHS.

The most likely diagnosis for her is POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) but she still hasn’t been able to access a tilt table test. POTS isn’t a diagnosis as such because various issues can cause the syndrome of symptoms.

Lots of info here https://www.potsuk.org/ to see if this fits your symptoms. It often affects young woman and the latest research points towards a possible autoimmune link.

Sounds odd..but get your thyroid checked. Hyperthyroidism can cause that racing heart...it certainly did for me, I ended up on beta blockers, until my thyroid levels stabilised. I still get it now and again, when I'm rundown
