To think James Haskell is a bit of a prat

Watching their documentary and he seems so immature and not ready to have a family, he also so sarcastic and stroppy with Chloe.

Well then, seems it was as discussed. Haskell has his own daughters now. How marvellous to see how he has grown and developed into fatherhood given his later remarks. Some women will forgive all sorts of rubbish if there is a posh accent involved.

He doesn’t have his own daughters now, he has one daughter, singular.

yoire starting to come across like you’ve some weird vendetta going on. Yes his idea for doing this was heinous. No one disputes this. He was suspended for it. The man who did the filming was expelled. Haskell has apologised. He was 17 and at school, so over 2 decades ago.

It doesn’t excuse it. But many 17 year olds have done or suggested awful things, and for me, you can’t hold it against them forever, not if they apologise and learn from it. He’d get less time for murder.

@Janieforever - if this man was not of the social class he was then this would have had a very different outcome.

I went to school with people like James Haskell and his accent and social class are most protective. I do not think suggesting, putting a camera in place, and then showing it to your classmates is a mistake. It sounds to me quite organized which is why he makes, imo, so much effort to downplay it.

It's also the reason people still talk about it. It is actually a criminal offence.

I’ve worked with Chloe (no, she’s not my PT!) and she’s lovely. Kind, generous, funny. She’s also quite self-effacing IRL.

I’ve never met him and I don’t watch the show but it doesn’t sound like a great match. I know she wanted to get married and have kids, but she had lots of guys asking her out. I wonder why she went for him.

I’m not keen to defend him and even specifically said that. I just don’t wish him to be accused of more than he did, which was bad enough. I don’t think that’s fair.

I also believe he was a teen at school, it was over two decades ago He states he regrets it, and has apologised, nothing like that has happened since to our knowledge, and he’s now married with a child.

im not a fan of erroneous accusations, nor am I a fan of holding something over someone for the rest of their life , that they did at school as a teenage kid, have apologised for, and never repeated.

others think you should be punished for life and it speaks to who you are, you can never evolve or grow. We simply have different views.

as much as clearly I didn’t do anything like this as a child, or even anything criminal. I did do some ropey shit as a teen and I’d hate for that to follow me about for the rest of my life. As a grown woman I do not behave as I did as a teen at school. And I think that’s true for many folks

James Haskell is gross. I won't give him a free pass for the revenge porn thing because he's on a YouTube video laughing about it much more recently.

Can you imagine the horror the poor girl must have felt age 17 learning that loads of boys at her school had watched her having sex in a video she didn't even know existed? And then the school calling her parents to tell them that she was being suspended for it. It's just too awful.

I listened to the audiobook of his autobiography never having heard of him, so with no preconceptions, and he wasn't great! The cupboard filming stuff and the fallout from it at his school was pretty nasty, there was a bit when he basically said that any woman with him would always have to be second to the James Haskell show and I wasn't a fan of some of the pranks/revenge involving things like dead animals in sports bags.

A lot of the people in the rugby world sounded awful.

The issue is this current mania for ‘reality tv’ and lots of nobody’s getting paid eye watering sums of money for - having a baby, getting married etc etc Most normal human beings do this and hold down a job that does not pay the equivalent and no TV crew in sight.

In order to stay ‘fresh’ they need to engineer arguments and toxicity to ‘please the masses’ and cause controversy.

I am not keen on Richard Marley who has made a career out of being a part- so not surprised the bar was set low. JH is not someone I would want to watch.

All we can do - is not watch this sad excuse for entertainment.
Perhaps in the future we will look back on this tripe and wonder why we were offered such banality

What was the fallout from his school? Did other kids give him a hard time about it? I do hope so.

I wasn't aware he had an autobiography. He doesn't seem important enough to have one.

Chloe went back to work when her baby was 8 weeks old, after having a c section as well. Because she needed the money and they don't have joint finances. That's shocking to me.

The fact that, several decades later, he still characterises filming that poor girl having sex without her knowledge or consent (to say nothing of showing the video to her classmates and humiliating her) as “making a porno” tells me all I need to know about him frankly. He was a pig in his school days and he’s still a pig now.

Y'all might not like him, but I don't think it is a good idea to pile on and kick a man when he has just split up with his young family.

This is a fragile time to bash someone, even if you don't think he will see these comments. The internet is a very small world.
