Is this an Act of Bin War?

It's bin day tomorrow. We share a drive with our neighbours (speak just to say hello, never had any issues). We each have one side, on which you can park two cars lengthways.
Tonight my husband has discovered that they have neatly lined up their four wheelybins across our end of the drive, completely blocking him in.
My car is parked round the corner, because my husband was tinkering with his car on the drive earlier and needed the space.
Husband will be going out first thing to do the school run, so will have to move these bloody bins.
AIBU to just haul them into their side of the drive, any which way or even behind their car.
I'm genuinely confused. Are they simply incredibly dim, or is this an Act of War?

Does your DH usually do the school run?

Coldinscotland · 22/10/2023 19:15

Knock them over and sweep to their side...
Wouldn't but would want to.

Knock and ask them to shift them..

BinDayHorror · 22/10/2023 19:16

Every day, why?

Put them right behind their car

AgaMM · 22/10/2023 19:17

Just move them now!

Knocking and asking them to shift certainly would be the logical option!
I'm just so confused by their thought processes here!

Every day, why?

Was wondering if it was uncharacteristic and they were going by the norm.

You've got a LOT of bins, btw.

MustDust · 22/10/2023 19:18

Any chance they've told a child to put the bins out and this is an idiotic move on their behalf?

newwings · 22/10/2023 19:18

Maybe a teen or someone different has put them out?

Tinkerbyebye · 22/10/2023 19:19

Could be kids moving them. I would give them the benefit of the doubt knock on the door and say it looks like kids have moved your bins. Could you move them back? Thanks

AdultingIncorrectly · 22/10/2023 19:20

Maybe they are nipping out after and plan to move them once they are back and parked?

Where do you put your bins?
Why do you have 4?
Where do people who live in a terrace with tiny garden keep 4 bins?!
How often are they emptied?
I am so intrigued.

We don't have four, we have two (recycling and regular waste) and ours are not in the shot. No idea why they've got four!

You know what's possibly even weirder - there are only two people living there with all those bins, and they literally fill them all every week!

AdultingIncorrectly · 22/10/2023 19:25

You get bin collections every week! (Sorry for the derail)

Maybe they are secretly running some sort of business from home with that many bins. Very odd.

Cosyblankets · 22/10/2023 19:25

Our neighbours have got adult child living with them but they're often away. Adult child thoughtlessly puts the bin in front of our car. I don't think it's deliberate, just lazy. So i put it in front of his car.

Put them right behind their car

I've had to do this before. Only needed to do it three times before they stopped. Still smile and wave as no angry words were said (except in their own household). Sometimes PA does work 😂

Scampuss · 22/10/2023 19:26

I would move them, but not to their drive, but to far around the corner somewhere.

I am that petty.

Was going to say the same. I’d leave them a few streets away after making sure I’ve painted my house number on my bins first!

ManchesterLu · 22/10/2023 20:03

If it's the first time it's happened I'd do nothing. If it happened repeatedly I'd mention it to them.

Some people are so myopic they won't even consider the fact that you need to get your car out. Some people are dicks who might have done it on purpose because you've annoyed them in some way without realising it.

MaggieFS · 22/10/2023 20:13

Unless they are away and have a complete idiot house sitting, it does look like an act of bin war.

You've no choice but to move them in front of their car.

Go through their rubbish and find out what they’re up to
