What alcoholic drink for no hangover?!

Ive not drank for a while just because I hate the hangovers, I’m early 40s now and just don’t know if I can’t drink anymore?! With Christmas coming up though I’d like to have the option even if it’s just one or two without writing off the next 2 days! Which drinks would you recommend for no hangover?!

Gherkins before bed. They where recommended by a German man and work for me.

Maybe alcohol just isn’t for you? If drinking wipes you out for 2 days then it might just not agree with you.

I’m in this boat and haven’t drunk any alcohol for years. There are lots of very good alcohol free drinks now so plenty of choice.

I would - that’s why I don’t drink. The effects were horrid and just not worth it. Well plus I don’t like the taste and don’t get the happy feel that everyone else talks about so there are only the negatives.

Figure me and alcohol just don’t get on.

Take a milk thistle tablet before you start drinking and have a pint of water with a fizzy electrolyte hydration tablet in it when you finish drinking,

After 2 glasses? A 2 day hangover after 2 glasses is crazy. I don’t blame you I’d never drink!

We usually have a bottle of white and a jug of soda for the table so we can mix the strength we like I like more water than wine my bezzie likes more wine than water I also have a sulphites allergy so i like to have more water but my friends all swear by clear drinks.

I find I don't really suffer with gin and tonic. If I drink equivalent units of wine or beer I can be hanging for 2 days. In general you're trying to avoid tannins and sugar. I like fever tree tonic and Bombay Sapphire gin

What drinks have made you hungover before?

I have only had 2 or 3 hangovers and they have all involved rum.

I have been very drunk on gin or vodka or wine or cocktails or beer or cider and been completely fine. I now stay clear of wine but since mid 20s I rarely half more than a couple and drink a mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Always make sure you drink plenty of water at night and get to bed with enough time to get a good night's sleep

Oh and have lucky genetics that reduces your risk of hangovers!

Clear drinks, but a mixer is fine. So vodka, gin, white rum, white wine. And obviously don’t drink too much 🤣

Wine is a 70:30 bad time for me. Not a happy type of drunk at all. I only drink it in the country it comes from to limit the opportunities for bad times

Organic red wine - my DSis’ tip and it really works, or vodka lime and soda with every second one a line and soda

A glass of orange juice before bed is brilliant at hangover prevention, whatever tipple you decide upon. Personally, white wine, and vodka give me the worst hangovers. Fruit ciders tend to let me drink a bit without waking up like I have a hatchet in my brain.

Single vodka with fresh lime and soda or with lemonade in a tall glass.

I never used to get hangovers at all but now I feel pretty crap if I’ve drink a bit. I do stick to same drinks (vodka soda and lime) or lemonade if I’m in the mood. But really don’t want to waste weekend feeling Shite

White spirits.

White wine and champagne are the absolute worst for me. Banging head.

Drinking less is the key point.

Otherwise, vodka (with mixers, rather than shots, if that is what you prefer) but do not have any other type of alcohol.

Or white wine spritzers with plenty of soda water (more or less drowning the wine)

Don't mix your drinks, and don't go for things like red wine that have high levels of tannins and congeners

Real ale.

If you don’t want a hangover why would you drink at all? There’s no pressure to drink alcohol, and there’s so many nice non alcoholic grown up drinks out there. Everleaf “gin” and Becks Blue “lager” are excellent.

Interesting the website doesn't mention alcohol at all. Just enjoy your social life and take 2 hours before.

Almost as if they know they can't say it prevents hangovers so just fudge it.

I like craft beer but 3 pints is my limit or if I am somewhere that I will be judged for drinking beer I will have G&T but my limit is 3 - 3 is the magic
number (to be functional the next day!)
