Am I wrong not to go?

I have a hen party coming this weekend, and I also have an injured knee. I’m waiting to see a specialist, and am on strong pain killers including morphine. My mobility is much better than it was, but I’m still off work at the moment. I gave the MOH notice a few weeks ago that I may not be able to come. There is no one to take my place and will lose about £250 (absolutely not expecting to be refunded, and rightly so!)
the venue is a long drive away which I’m expecting to be painful and I won’t be able to drink or dance. Pain is still an issue and there will be a fair bit of walking.

I feel guilty not going but don’t want to cause any further issues with knee. The hens are sympathetic but I do tend to have people pleasing tendencies!

Of course you shouldn't go. It's ridiculous to even consider going.

Don't dream of going. Suck up the financial loss. You won't enjoy it and you could seriously stress your body and impact your recovery. It's a shame though.

Saying you cannot come now is the only sensible choice. Pity you did not weeks ago but what is done is done.

I did tell them when injury happened, several weeks ago. Was hoping things would improve!

If you like to please people, then the reality is that the people around you are unlikely to be pleased with you if they feel they have to curtail their activities around your knee or sit and look after you in the club because you can’t dance. An injury is a perfectly valid reason to pull out.
