Bear with me - I know the clue is in the name.
However, without fail, every time there is a boiler safety check, no matter what boiler it is (have had four, current one is a Potterton Combi from 2019), no matter what company performs the checks, the boiler stops working afterwards.
Yet another 'no pressure' error message. What the hell do they do to these things - deliberately reduce the pressure from nicely in the middle of the acceptable range to a micrometer away from failure? And nothing when turning the valve to top up. It's supposed to be hard plumbed to avoid the need for a removable and taken away each time by the engineer as though it's their property filler hose.
There's a separate error message for frozen condensate pipes (not happening) and water's coming out of the taps, so the mains isn't frozen. The washing machine and dishwasher are also working fine, so there doesn't appear to be any issue with the supply at all.
This happens every bloody time a Safety Check person attends.
No hot water, no option for heating (or therefore for the anti freeze protection to kick in) in case it gets colder overnight - that side of the house has been in full sun since daybreak, so even though it got down to about 3 Celsius overnight, it's as warm as it's going to get. And if it gets cold again tonight, we'll be in the range of potentially actually having frozen pipes due to the frost protection being non-operational.
And no bugger is answering the emergency line - 35 minutes on hold before I figured it would be cheaper to boil five kettles worth of water for washing and wait until tomorrow to call up again from work. And then try to get a day off (against the terms of my contract outside designated dates) to wait around all day for what is usually a five minute job to resolve when you a) know what you're doing, b) are there to fix it, not make it fail in the first place.
Correlation =/= causation, but seriously - every time?
